Week 1 Development Update:

Saturday, September 24th was the Prototype Game Jam where we created the initial demo/prototype.

Development team: 

  • Basic movement mechanics + third person camera
  • State abilities: Ice breaking glass, water squeezes under obstacles, gas jumping and gliding.
  • Level designed basic prototype scene for demo

Art team:

  • Created concept art
  • Started development for 3D character modeling
  • Created objects for demo scene 

Music team:

  • Created looping track for demo level
  • Created sound effects for state switching, state abilities, and glass breaks.

Challenges:

  • Time constraint of the game jam and getting a working prototype. 
  • Prioritizing what part of the game we want to have done for the week, as there are a lot of elements to this game that require lots of time to complete.
