This week we focused on preparation for the beta:

This includes:

  • Working on a level select functionality/art
  • Working on new levels
  • Addressing and applying the feedback from the previous playtests into our beta build
  • New plant models to include in scenes
  • Water pool mechanic that allows only puddle to get across
  • Added sound effects to level mechanics
  • Added background music to forest
  • Various bug fixes

Challenges:

  • Creating a new mechanic right before the beta and making sure it was working and tested before the full feature complete build. 
  • Time constraints, trying to add assets and audio as well as finish with needed dev tasks.
  • Choosing which of the feedback from playtests to prioritize for the beta build and which to hold off till polishing.
