Devlog 4


This week we focused on polishing and adding a few new mechanics to our level we created the previous week. We also worked on making adjustments to the level to prepare for the upcoming playtest. 


  • New models created: Fan, desk, monitor, buttons, keyboard, spawn pod, textures
  • Fan model update
  • Objects are outlined to show what is interactable dependent on current state
  • Audio for newly added mechanics + objects in level
  • New mechanic: Break glass to allow other objects to be interactable (break glass in wire to be able to interact with it as liquid)
  • New mechanic: Water a plant to grow a temporary platform
  • New sound effects for interactable objects as well as ambience/environment
  • New UI icon for energy reflects currently enabled state

Challenges:

  • Building on the initial couple weeks mechanics structure and making sure everything still works as intended after introducing new environment/character abilities.
  • Figuring out level design and asset placement, scale was a big issue for us to figure out.
